modern miracle |

I dont know how they made such an efficient and bright light with such a small panel. this light is light, the li-on battery is like a feather, but you dont need it cuz after 10 hours the sun will come up anyway, and it doesnt need a regulator so i left it outside for 2 days and left it in my car with closed windows, and it worked fine. most flashlights have only half the benefits, and it cost me the same as my crank flashlight which is only half as bright and doesnt shine as far. plus its eco friendly, and i was suprised to find it in a local hardware store. i usually dont write reviews but i felt they catered to me personally with this product. i prolly sound biased but theres really no cons except maybe its an inch too long. but its narrow and not bulky in size, it sticks out of your pocket but it has rubber ends so it wont fall out. a true miracle of modern creation (IMO).

As a retired "think tank" owner, I can appreciate the green engineering and ultra practicality of fail safe lighting that stands up to neglect, abuse, and floods... without costing a penny more than its original price! I have them for daily use and stashed extras for emergencies. The have lighted my way atop mountains and under the sea. They give me not only lightwhen I need it most... they give me peace of mind 24/7. They represent the most practical and innovative bargain I have found since my last marriage.

Truly innovative light |

This is not your parent's solar flashlight, it really is new. It utilizes a capacitor (NiMH) to store the charge from the solar panel, not a rechargeable battery. This is very important since this light can be charged thousands of times and the capacitor has no shelf life unlike a rechargeable battery. I have been waiting a long time for something like this. The light is bright enough and runs long enough for any practical use. It is the eminent survival/emergency flashlight. In addition, it is presented in a compact, lightweight and comfortable form factor. There is some variability in the effectiveness of the solar panels from light to light, but mine will charge in a room lit only by incandescent lighting. Very innovative and makes most if not all other solar flashlights obsolete. If the capacitor is drained for any reason, backup battery power is only a click away.

Can't wait to try one of your lights. Tried a "Pelican" rechargeable that worked great for about six months. Sent it in for replacement six months ago...nothing. If I do get on of these lights and it breaks, will you folks repair it? Or am I dealing with another Pelican type product? Ed Tobin
